Students from The School of Business, Economics and Law wins first prize in thesis competition on Innovation

Published

What kind of support structure is available for small companies that quickly want to become international? Does this structure match the needs within the born-global companies? These were questions that Paulina Olsson and Jacob Sundquist asked when writing their Bachelor’s thesis during spring. They are now the first prize winners in the thesis competition Nytt&Nyttigt.

Paulina and Jacob wrote the thesis “What is needed to boost international business growth in potential Born Globals?” within their Bachelor’s programme. It caught the jury’s attention with the motivation “the authors have addressed an important theme with very high policy relevance. There are very few studies conducted on small scale companies about the need for support within the process of Internationalization”.

ESBRIs and VINNOVAs thesis competition Nytt&Nyttigt was this year arranged for the fifth time. The ability to think in new ways, and to transform ideas into something useful for the society, is central to sustainable growth. Therefore, VINNOVA and ESBRI started Nytt&Nyttigt – a thesis competition on the theme of innovation, commercialization and utilization. This year 77 theses were sent in from 18 different universities and the prizes were given out at VINNNOVAs yearly conference 2 December.
