About the alumni database

The University of Gothenburg joint web-based alumni database has now been launched. The School of Business, Economics and Law is the first institution to be included in it.

This new database includes a range of improvements for our alumni:

 - Easier to maintain contact with your colleagues, your network and the School of Business, Economics and Law

 - Opportunity to create and manage your own alumni associations via the database

 - Better access to information on what is happening at the School of Business, Economics and Law, e.g. seminars, courses, alumni gatherings, current research

 - Access to a careers portal where you can advertise for new staff and look for jobs

How to register?
Click here to register , then log in using your Swedish personal ID number. (Forgotten your Swedish personal ID number? Contact alumn@gu.se for assistance.) Complete as much information as you like when you are in the database, then decide whether you want other alumni to be able to see you when they search. Do not forget to provide an e-mail address to which we can send your password. (If you do not enter an e-mail address, your details will be sent by snail mail.) Your e-mail address will also be used if you opt to receive newsletters and other information/invitations from School of Business, Economics and Law Alumni electronically.

Who are the alumni of the School of Business, Economics and Law?
Alumni are anyone who graduated from the School of Business, Economics and Law (1923-1971), who graduated in Economics at the University of Gothenburg (1971-1986), or who graduated from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg (1986-). Even if you have another exam to go or have not completed all your Higher Education Credits, you are welcome to register as an alumnus. On the other hand, only people who have applied/graduated are automatically added to our register.

Any queries?
Feel free to contact our alumni manager, Ingmarie Karlgren, on +46 (0) 31 786 5155.

More information on the database:

The University of Gothenburg joint alumni database, which includes the School of Business, Economics and Law, is the key to our network of alumni, helping you to build new relations and stay in touch with your old colleagues and the School of Business, Economics and Law. As an alumnus of the School of Business, Economics and Law, you are included in the group of commerce alumni in the database.

How does it work?

The alumni database at the University of Gothenburg is password-protected and shared by the entire university. You have to register in order to look up your colleagues and let us know what kind of contact you want with us. We will send you your login details when you register as a new user in the menu on the right. The whole thing takes about 15 minutes.

If you have completed your first degree/research training degree, your name and course details will have been taken from the Ladok study documentation system and will appear in the web form. Otherwise you can choose what information you want to be visible to other alumni.

The more details you fill in, the more useful the database will be to you, your colleagues and the School of Business, Economics and Law.

Once you have finished registering, your username and password will be sent to your e-mail address. If you do not enter an e-mail address, your login details will be sent to you by post within a few days.

Use of the alumni database is free and does not tie you to any other obligations.

If you are already part of School of Business, Economics and Law Alumni, e.g. already receive newsletters and invitations to gatherings electronically, you will need to register again to get a username and password for the new alumni database. (How to do this is described above.)
